Tea-Dyed

This is a rare collaboration for One Ear Brand. This bandanna was completely designed by Washizu, a 5th generation tea-dyer in Shizuoka, Japan. The design for this was completely hand cut on paper and resist-dyed using traditional Japanese techniques. What makes this stand out is its simplicity. It is inspired by rock gardens in Japanese temples. These gardens are called "枯山水" or karesansui in English.

The minimal design is both eye-pleasing and heart warming. The base color is the yellow color from the tea. It is further processed with an iron mordant adding the grey hue. This contrast is soft and warm. The two most prominent characteristics of natural dyeing. Since these are dyed on our bandanna blanks specially made for this product, there may be some fraying and irregularities that make these extra special. They will also be pre-washed as a part of the dyeing process, so there may be fraying on the sewn seams. Please trim off any loose threads carefully.
